I_Die_a_Lot commands the VSS Trogdor and VSS Miyagi, serves as XO of Defiant under CO Chakrin, and edits the Signal — Vanguard's official publication. He also built and maintains the platform you're reading this on. His tactical philosophy borrows more from former UEE intelligence work than from the flight academy: pattern recognition over brute force, asymmetry over confrontation, and a deep belief that no plan survives first contact with the enemy. The doctrine shows up across his commands — the Miyagi presents itself as a derelict before snapping its torpedo bays open, and the Trogdor learned that getting shot on purpose can be a perfectly valid combat strategy if you're shot in the right places. When he's not flying, he's usually writing about flying, building something to support members who are flying, or finding a third thing to do that makes the first two easier next time. He's a strong believer that infrastructure beats behavioral correction, that the right data model beats the convenient workaround, and that brevity is a feature, not a constraint.
